American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona (ACLU) Championing for the Rights of the Immigrants

For a long time immigrants all over the world have been living under oppression and discrimination. One of the immigrant group that have always been subject to such oppression has been the Mexicans in Arizona. Fortunate enough, ACLU has been around to help fight for their rights.

ACLU is a group formed in 1959 with the goal of protecting the civil and human rights of the immigrants in Arizona. With an approximate population of 4.1 million immigrants in America, ACLU has been dedicating its resources towards the expansion and enforcement of civil and human rights reforms through a number of strategies. Through the partnership and support from wealthy and able personalities and corporations, the group is able to conduct successful advocacy and reach out to the marginalized immigrants and the oppressing community.

Since its formation, ACLU has earned itself a place in the hearts of the immigrants thanks to the many success it has achieved. The organization has been on the forefront of almost all legal cases affecting the immigrants in Arizona including Michael and Jim who had been wrongfully accused and detained by Sheriff Joe Arpaio for exposing his corruption and discrimination scandals against the Mexican immigrants.

ACLU is able to do all this thanks to the support and contributions it gets from well-wishers and organizations including the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund.

About Lacey & Larkin Frontera Fund

The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund was formed out of the $3.7 million compensation that was given to Mike Lacey and Jim Larkin as a result of their unlawful arrest and detention by a Sheriff. In addition to founding and running Village Voice Media and Phoenix New Times, Lacey and Larkin have always also be on the frontline championing the rights of the immigrants in Arizona.

Where other media outlets feared exposing the discriminations and injustices committed by the Sheriff the two media, personalities did it without any fear. This consequently led to their unlawful arrest.

The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund is now used to compensate needy and deserving Mexican immigrants. Additionally, the fund also help support immigration groups thus ensuring that immigrants are not subject to any forms of discrimination whatsoever.
